David Walliams dropped by longtime publisher.
Best-selling writer for children and comedian David Walliams has parted ways with his publisher HarperCollins UK, according to an announcement.
An official for the firm stated: "After careful consideration, and under the leadership of its recently appointed chief executive, HarperCollins UK will not be releasing any new titles by David Walliams."
It has been reported that the conclusion was made after an inquiry regarding claims about questionable actions directed at women.
The firm did not confirm the specific rationale behind the move, noting: "It is not our policy to discuss internal matters."
An Illustrious Publishing History
Walliams is one of the UK's most successful children's authors, boasting over more than 60 million copies internationally in five dozen languages.
His first children's book, *The Boy in the Dress*, came out under HarperCollins back in 2008.
Several of his works, such as *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have subsequently been turned into small-screen adaptations.
His bibliography includes over four dozen titles combined, which features a Christmas book titled *Santa & Son*, which was released through HarperCollins in October.
Television and Literature
He first rose to fame on the television comedy show *Little Britain* and has also won National Television Awards for his duties as an arbiter on *Britain's Got Talent*.
He was awarded an OBE several years ago honoring his contributions to the charitable sector and arts community.
The publisher's decision comes after the selection of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's new chief executive this past October.
