Clair Obscur Sweeps at the 2025's Gaming Honors
The forty-third yearly Golden Joystick Awards were hosted on Thursday, and with a remarkable performance, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 emerged as the most decorated winner. This breakout role-playing game from Sandfall Interactive earned the coveted Top Game award, along with honors for Superb Storytelling and Best Visual Design.
Adding to the studio's triumph, the talented actors also were honored with personal awards. Jennifer English won Best Lead Performer for her role as Maelle, while Ben Starr won Supporting Performance Award for his acting as Verso. Additionally, Sandfall Interactive the studio was honored as Top Studio. Overall, Clair Obscur and its developers collected 7 awards throughout the show.
Additional standout winners included Ghost of Yōtei, which won Outstanding Audio and Top Console Title, and Hollow Knight: Silksong, winning Best Indie Game (Self-Published) and PC Game of the Year. Worth mentioning, the bulk of Golden Joystick Awards are chosen by the audience, with only 4 special—Critics' Pick, Breakthrough Award, Hall of Fame, and Streamers’ Choice—judged by critics.
