Barcelona to Host Historic Game at Upgraded Camp Nou over the weekend
Barcelona have announced they will play at the still-under-construction Camp Nou this Saturday. The club will host Athletic Bilbao in the Spanish league two and a half years following their departure for construction to commence.
“We envisioned this comeback. The moment has arrived. Home again at Spotify Camp Nou.”
The stadium will not be at full capacity with 45,401 fans are permitted inside under the licence granted. When completed, the Camp Nou is due to hold almost 105,000 spectators, a rise from the old capacity. Barça announced recent additions comprise an updated entryway for the team plus modern locker rooms.
Preparatory Events
Barcelona held a public practice on the home pitch on 7 November. Officials stated approval is being pursued from Uefa to host the next European match against Eintracht Frankfurt next month at the stadium. Previous fixtures took place in the temporary ground.
