Accused Stalker Inquired: 'Yet What If I Am Madeleine?'
A female accused with harassing Kate McCann apparently deposited her a recorded message which asked: "suppose I am Madeleine?"
Julia Wandelt, twenty-four, who witnesses stated has persistently declared she was the missing Madeleine McCann, and Karen Spragg are on trial indicted with pursuing Kate and Gerry McCann from June 2022 and February 2025.
On Monday, the tribunal learned call records and information obtained from phones recorded Ms Wandelt consistently requesting Madeleine's mother for a biological test during that period.
Madeleine's vanishing in 2007 - when she was three years old during a family holiday in Portugal - is one of the most publicized missing child cases and continues to be unresolved.
'I Do Not Need Money'
Another voicemail, played in court, recorded Ms Wandelt declaring: "I realize I'm overweight and plain like Madeleine had been, but I feel what I believe."
While a separate message of Ms Wandelt's monologues with Mrs McCann's answerphone stated: "What if there is a slight possibility that I'm her? What happens next? Isn't that important for you?"
"I do not need money, I have a living here in Poland, I only wish to understand," the message continued.
The jury was informed that through emails, SMS messages and calls, Ms Wandelt requested a biological test, sent childhood photos to her phone in a attempt to display a similarity to Mrs McCann's disappeared daughter, and asserted to have "recollections" from a youth with the McCanns.
An intelligence analyst, an investigator with Leicestershire Police who collated the evidence, told the court there "showed no any responses" from Mrs McCann.
Ms Wandelt additionally reached out to family friends of the McCanns, according to the call data.
On October 9th, 2024, the father responded to a communication from Ms Wandelt to his wife's phone, stating she had "a wrong number."
That day Ms Wandelt left a voicemail on Mrs McCann's voicemail saying "I will continue and I will prove my claim."
The court was informed Mrs Spragg established a connection online with Ms Wandelt preceding accompanying her on a visit to the McCanns' property in Leicestershire in that winter.
Communication data revealed Mrs Spragg had communicated through messaging service to Mrs McCann to express the press had portrayed Ms Wandelt as "a crazy person" but that she should be taken seriously in the time preceding the visit to that location, Leicestershire, in that winter.
The court heard communications between the two accused, in November 2024, planning endeavoring to acquire Mrs McCann's biological evidence from her bins or from cutlery at a eating establishment.
